IGNOU Eligibility Criteria 2023
Educational qualifications and age required for the faculty positions at IGNOU are as follows.
Educational Qualification
Professor:
- Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline.
- A minimum of 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
- Minimum ten (10) years of teaching experience in a University/College as an Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor, and/or research experience.
Associate Professor:
- Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines.
- A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) wherever grading system is followed.
- Minimum of eight years of experience in teaching and/or research equivalent to that of an Assistant Professor in a University.
Assistant Professor:
- A Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks in the concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or equivalent foreign degree.
- Clearing the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or having a PhD Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission.
Age Limit
- 18 to 55 years as of 1st January 2023
There will be upper age relaxation as per government rules.
