The TRS party’s 2018 Telangana manifesto promised to double old-age pensions from Rs 1,000-Rs 2,016 per month and for the differently-abled from Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,016, pay unemployment allowance to jobless youth, waive crop loans up to Rs 1 lakh, and increase financial assistance to farmers from Rs 8,000 per acre to Rs 10,000 per year. 

The manifesto was launched during a big public gathering at Secunderabad parade grounds by TRS president and CM K Chandrasekhar Rao three days before the election campaign ended.

Telangana election preparations have started. A one-day security module training for police officers was held on Wednesday, August 30. DGP Anjani Kumar said over 700 police officers were reshuffled following the ECI’s instruction and that 80-85 checkpoints were set up around the interstate borders with Chattisgarh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Odisha. The Congress formed multiple Telangana Assembly election committees on Saturday, months before the elections.
